Read MoreHi everyone,
By popular request, I'm excited to say I am setting up a Dalcroze Eurhythmics class for adults. The class will teach musicianship through movement. It's a blend of learning how to be 'in the moment', creativity, quick reaction, musicality, singing, collaboration... and many people find it quite therapeutic as well as lots of fun! I'm so happy to have had so much interest so far. Dalcroze classes are so fantastic and I've been keen to share my experiences since I started a few years ago. I teach regular Dalcroze classes to children on Saturday mornings, but have been wanting to teach adults for years so I'm thrilled that this will be happening soon!
I'll run a free trial session for people to see what it's about, and if I have enough interest, I'll run a weekly class... Perhaps one weekday evening, and probably at The Voicebox, in Derby. I'm hoping to be able to price it at £6 for an hour's session.
Let me know if you're interested, and feel free to ask any questions or to let me know what kind of time/ day is good for you, if you think you'd like to join in!
Thanks!
Lately, in the piano lessons I teach, I've had a big drive on teaching children to ask questions. It's been surprising how foreign this seems to them! I do wonder whether in class situations, children are more often putting their hands up to answer, than to ask questions.
